Advertisements on NOVA
Learn how advertisements work on NOVA and how sellers can use ethical, effective strategies to reach engaged tech buyers.
On NOVA Ecommerce Platform, advertising is designed to benefit both sellers and buyers. Sellers can use a range of ad placements and promotion tools to increase their visibility—while buyers enjoy a browsing experience that is relevant, clearly labeled, privacy-respecting, and never intrusive.
1. Types of Advertisement
- Sponsored Listings: Appear at the top of search results, category pages, and product suggestions with a “Promoted” label.
- Category Banners: Premium display space at the top of category and special campaign pages.
- Homepage Carousels: Rotating banners and featured tiles on the NOVA homepage.
- In-App Banners: Dynamic, eye-catching ads in the mobile app, visible in key user flows (home, deals, checkout, etc.).
- Discount & Coupon Promotions: Highlighted in deal sections, email newsletters, push notifications (opt-in only).
- Green Seller Spotlights: Special placements for eco-certified products—cannot be purchased, awarded based on certification.
2. How to Advertise
- Marketing Center for Sellers: Log in to Seller Center and go to the “Marketing” tab to access advertising tools, set daily budgets, run ad campaigns, and monitor performance.
- Promotional Credits: Use NOVA Coins or coupon codes for pay-per-click or pay-per-impression placements.
- Campaign Participation: Apply to join NOVA-wide events (e.g., Green Week, Gadget Fest) through event invitations or the Campaigns dashboard.
3. Targeting, Rules, and Transparency
- Audience Targeting: Ads are delivered based on category relevance, user browsing and search intent, and opt-in personalization. No off-platform behavioral targeting.
- Clear Labeling: All paid placements and ads are visibly marked with “Promoted” or “Ad.” Editorial features cannot be bought and are chosen solely on merit.
- Prohibited Practices: No fake reviews, click fraud, fake scarcity banners, off-platform redirects, or misleading claims.
- User Control: Buyers may adjust ad and marketing preferences in their account settings. No user data is sold to third parties for external advertising.
Ads must comply with Philippine advertising law, DTI guidelines, and NOVA’s own standards. All submitted ads are subject to moderation and review.
4. Analytics & Reporting
- Real-Time Dashboard: Sellers can track ad spend, impressions, clicks, conversion rates, and return on ad spend (ROAS) from the Marketing Center.
- Performance Optimization: Transparent data helps you adjust budgets, test creatives, and target high-performing product categories.
- Green Badge Impact: Additional analytics are available for eco-certified sellers to see the effect of Green Seller status on engagement and sales.
5. Responsible Advertising Principles
- Truth & Clarity: Ads must be truthful, clear, and never make misleading promises.
- Respectful Placement: No intrusive pop-ups or autoplay video; ad frequency and placement respect user experience.
- Green Claims: Environmental/sustainability claims must be substantiated by valid certifications; NOVA may request proof before approval.
- Diversity and Inclusion: All creative assets must avoid discriminatory stereotypes and reflect a diverse, inclusive tech community.
